Fire breaks out in 42-storey building in China; no death reported
A massive fire broke out in China on Friday from the 42-storey skyscraper of the country's largest telecommunications company.
Dozens of floors were gutted in the China Telecom building in Changsha city, capital of central Hunan province.
There was no immediate information about the cause of the fire.
Local reports suggest that people were evacuated from the building, which is about 200 meters high.
Changsha is the capital of China's Hunan province, where about 10 million people live.
The provincial fire department later said in a social media post that "Currently, the fire has been extinguished.
According to CCTV, the 218 m (715 ft) building was completed in 2000 and is located near a major ring road.
